Our Story.

Hold my Hand was founded by three university students who were alarmed by the increasing number of homeless youth in the Bole sub-city area. Deaths of one or both parents, extreme poverty, abuse, and forced labor are just a few of the driving forces that had resulted in these kids losing a place they can call home. In 2013, G.C, what has started as a weekend support group for these groups of kids quickly grew to the full-scale sanctuary that it is today. At the start of this, the founders were able to support seven young boys with shelter, food, and education. As of late 2015 G.C the center was registered and recognized by the Ethiopian government as a non-profit service giving entity for homeless youth. Currently, Hold my hand operates as a permanent all boys-shelter. At the same time, Hold my Hand continues to provide education to the community, provides support and expertise for others, and lastly, advocate for resources to be made readily available for the homeless population.
